Since volunteering with the Obama Campaign, I have met some amazing people. There is a guy from Senegal (west africa) who has lived here in the states for 10 yrs. He has applied to become a US citizen. He said that he has been waiting to see if he will become a citizen before Election Day. Sadly tomorrow (6 Oct.) is the deadline here in VA. At least several days a week he is in the campaign office. There was german citizen who lives in the area who said he is working at Obama campaign office in Newport News (NN), VA (about 40 miles away) he stopped by to pick up yard signs and bumper stickers for the NN office. Also I have met a lady who originally is from canada and has lived in the US for the past 23 years, who became a US citizen 3 yrs ago.
Hampton Roads has a large military population active duty; retired; and those in between. I am a navy veteran of 21 yrs., now living in VA Beach, VA. There is a retired USMC Maj. (05); a retired submarine officer, Vietnam veterans; and guys who have served in Iraq. These guys are not just voting but also volunteering “man hours” to make Sen. Obama the next commander in chief.
About two weeks ago I was manning the front desk and answered the phone. A guy was calling from CA stating that he was planning to fly to VA (a swing state) to assist in anyway he could. There is this attorney from the washington, dc area who is employed with the government who used his vacation time to help with the voter registration drive.
One day I and others were tasked with hand writing the local campaign office phone number and email address on blank voter registration forms. After about 25 minutes of writing the same information over and over again I started thinking they need a rubber stamp; preprinted labels or something. But then I looked over and saw this attorney across the room doing the same monotonousness job I was doing. And I thought if this man is willing to do it who am I to be griping internally?
Prior to learning what he did for a living, the day before I recall seeing him in the campaign office stapling papers for about 30 mins. Today, (Sunday 5 Oct) I explain to him that he was my motivation to continue with the hand written notes on the registration forms. He said “If it took (him) me to hand write every voter registration form in VA to help prevent four more years under the republican party he was prepaid to do so.
There is a barber shop not far from the Obama Campaign Office owned by some guys originally from the dominican republic I stopped by their shop to see if anyone eligible to vote in the presidential election. They said everyone they knew was already for November 4. I also asked if the dominican community was supporting Obama or “mcbush” and they said everyone is for Obama. I said “Cool, maybe he (Obama) will make it.” Then one of the guys in a spanish accent said “No! Not Maybe. OBAMA WILL WIN!”

8. He opposes drilling for oil in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge – although only 0.5% of ANWR land would potentially be used for oil production. He even put ANWR on the same footing as the Grand Canyon.
9. He authored the McCain-Feingold Bill, which severely limits free speech in campaigns.
10. He graduated 5th from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy – wasting his time there while being supported by taxpayers.
11. He married his mistress after his 1st wife was severely injured in a car accident.
12. He has been at the head of normalizing relations with Viet Nam and China while his father-in-law became a major beer distributor in Viet Nam and China.
13. He was endorsed by the New York Times.
14. He is very “close friends” with Hillary Clinton, according to both him and Bill Clinton.
15. He told the Viet Cong the flight paths and targets of US aircraft, endangering the lives of his fellow airmen.
16. His campaign is run by lobbyists – He has more than double the number of lobbyists on his campaign staff than any other Republican or Democratic candidate.
17. His economic platform consists of cutting pork barrel spending – which sounds good, but will hardly have any impact on the US budget or economy.
18. He supports the carbon cap and tax approach to global warming, which will cost the US tens of trillions of dollars and make almost no impact (think India and China).
19. He has no understanding of business, business accounting, taxes, job creation on the private sector – his promise is essentially “your jobs aren’t coming back”.
20. He publicly rails against government earmarks and says he has never asked for earmarks – however he has asked for earmarks for Arizona on several occasions.
21. He constantly states that he was the only one supporting the troop surge in Iraq, although that has been proven to be blatantly false.
22. He has a hair trigger temper – he’s cursed at fellow senators in committee on various occasions.
23. He has had skin cancer twice and is 71 years old.
24. He was negotiating with the Democrats about switching parties and being John Kerry’s running mate – he denies this now, but its been confirmed by his own aides.
25. He is the Republican the liberal media wants to win the Republican nomination – they’ll have a field day with all the skeletons in his closet.
Bonus 1 – He was less conservative than 78% of other Republicans in the senate (American Conservative Union).

I am not an American. So I cannot vote in your election. But I beg of you. Please do everything you can to stop this mad man John McCain. The truth is America cannot afford another 4 years of Bush. There will not be an America if the neo cons get into the White House again. How can you possible go past an inspirational leader like Obama and vote for Geriatrix McCain and his moronic pick for the vice president Palin! ..Who has international political experience because she lives next to Russia!!!.. Even though I didnt like Hillary any more than Obama did, I am starting to think it was a mistake not to include her in the ticket. Even though Joe Biden is a good VP pick, her inclusion would have sealed the deal for Obama. I hope she will campain for Obama in the coming months in earnest. One can only hope!!!
The thing you americans can do now is to mobilise the young and the educated. I am sure no person with high school education and not brainwashed by Fox news will ever vote for John McCain. Get as many people out and work from the grassroots for Obama. Also I hope he brings back his great attitute that he showed during the primaries. I think he has gone soft once he secured the nomination. He should fight back at the republicans in the same way they are attacking him now. No more Mr Nice guy. I am sure Obama and Biden will excel in the debates. But thats not enough. Run ads showing the true colour of these Republicans and the so called USA lovers.

I agree with the sentiment of the site entirely but I actually don’t like this video itself.
First, I don’t think it is worth it to go after McCain on torture. That is one issue in which he has an upper hand in regards to public perception and I think it will just muddle the rest of the reasons why he shouldn’t be president.
Second, I would remove the mention of his temper from this film. This film goes through a series of instances where he has changed positions and then seems to throw in his temper as a side note. I think we will all be better served to make a separate film splicing clips of him losing his temper with clips of him calling for escalation in Iraq, bombing of Iran, etc.. Or something to that effect with a consistent theme.
The rest of my issues are purely aesthetic so I won’t go into them because they are really just based on my personal taste. Otherwise I love the site and what you are doing. I just find this particular video somewhat sloppy.
